It's 2014, a new year full of things we may or may not expect to happen. Bad or Good, well it's up to us where to lead our lives this year. Issues in electric power hike, PDAF, the Agaton Hoax  and the LPA turned Tropical Depression Agaton that brings Visayas and Mindanao into land slides, flooding and, somewhat cost number of lives, I thought this year would be as bad the latter year having Yolanda raked much properties and lives into hell. I prayed for a news that could somewhat lift the Filipinos up from the bad and disturbing news we see and hear everyday.

And God really made one...

It was just last Sunday that I saw the documentary in Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, featuring a Filipino  care-giver in the Middle East who joined the grand finalists in the recently  X- Factor Israel. Rose "Osang" Fostanes,  47,  gains standing ovation not just from the crowd but the judges themselves during her audition on the said  contest while singing It's My Life. Even in a simple get-up that day, it didn't stopped her from wowing the crowd with her powerful voice of a Diva. This scene continues as she traverse the contest and even made her to be one of the grand finalists.

Being the eldest child in the family, Osang became the bread winner early in her life. She had done odd jobs just to suffice their daily needs and one of those were to join amateur singing contests which really helped them when the times are rough. It was revealed that Osang is not confident enough and  can only be heard humming songs every morning while doing everyday early chores.

She later went abroad to find greener pastures and had bounced from one country to another not just to earn to support her family but to lend services to those who needs her through Care-giving.

A new door opens as Osang joined the X-factor Israel. It was not surprising that the judges even the people here and abroad love her. She possesses a voice that can be compared to that of the late Whitney Houston which shows strength, power and emotion and really sinks in everyone who hear her sing.

And the D-day came, Wednesday here in the Philippines, Rose "Osang " Fostanes was announced as the -X Factor Champion of this season.

She doesn't just made a name for herself but  for all the Filipinos here and abroad that age and status in life is not a hindrance to attain what you really want in life.

We are very proud of you, Osang…
